Overview My research consists of designing and building systems in the areas of Human-Computer Interaction and Accessibility. My dissertation research has primarily focused on the design and development of eyes-free exercise technologies for people who are blind or low vision. In addition, I have collaborated with researchers in industry and in the medical field and built four other systems: 1-2) addressing email and attachment management in the workplace, 3) clinically valid depth camera based shoulder measurement tool for orthopedic surgeons, 4) audio-based method for people who are blind or low vision to explore 2D paintings. I have conducted qualitative and quantitative methods with both lab and real-world studies. My future research plans include the design and development of technologies within exercise and wellness to enable people who are visually impaired and sighted to exercise alongside or with one another.
